This information session for prospective families is the first step to enrolling in the Suzuki School of Newton. We are currently enrolling for all programs: Suzuki Prep, Early Beginners, and our Core program with concentration in violin, viola, cello, piano, flute, guitar, and harp.

The Suzuki Summer Porch Concert Series presents local folk duo Ari & Mia on the historic front porch of the Staples-Craft-Wiswall farmstead. Grab a lawn chair or a picnic blanket and join Ariel Friedman (cello) and Mia Friedman (fiddle) for this free performance that is open to the public. Mention the Suzuki Summer Porch Concert Series to our Neighborhood Partners, Barry’s Deli and Stone L’Oven, and receive 10% off takeout orders to enjoy during the concert.

Free and open to the public as part of Fiddle Pal Camp: Massachusetts

Join fiddle master Brian Wicklund and his band for a free, family-friendly event! The potluck supper begins at 5:30pm, and the family barn dance led by a live caller starts at 6:30pm. Music will be provided by the professional faculty members of the American Fiddle Method's Fiddle Pal Camp.

No prior dance experience necessary and fun for all ages!

Brian Wicklund and a band of hand-picked musicians from around the country return for a concert of fiddle music sourced from around the globe. Past concerts have included fiddle music from the American West, Appalachia, and Canada; Kentucky bluegrass; traditional Irish and Scottish fiddling styles; Scandinavian fiddle; jazz; and the blues.

Brian Wicklund (Marine, MN) is widely regarded as among the top fiddle teachers and performers in the country. He has toured internationally in bands with Stoney Lonesome, Judith Edelman, Kathy Kallick, Lorie Line, Chris Stuart Band, and Brother Mule. He is a busy studio musician, teacher and author of the best-selling, American Fiddle Method published by Mel Bay with over 100,000 copies sold. He teaches fiddle and mandolin at camps throughout the US, UK, Canada and Sweden.  He hosts his summer week-long American Fiddle Camps in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts. He is a founder and contributor to online instructional website Bluegrass College.
