On June 27th, members of the community joined SSN Associate Director, Marlene Lerer and Newton Parks and Rec supervisor, Stephanie Pelkowsky, in installing a new playground structure behind the Newton Cultural Center. Many thanks to our volunteers, and community donors including the Village Bank, Suzuki School of Newton, WarmLine/MSPP, Hotel Indigo, True Value Hardware, and many generous individuals. Ongoing efforts continue to help Newton Cultural Center’s goal of $19,000 to pay for the playground improvement, with nearly $15,000 already raised. Additional donations are being accepted: Newton Community Playground, c/o Suzuki School of Newton, 225 Nevada Street, Newtonville MA 02460.
