STEP ONE: Parent Information Session

The first step in enrolling in the Suzuki School of Newton is to attend one of our monthly parent information sessions. These gatherings explain the fundamentals of our program and the Suzuki method and give prospective families an opportunity to ask questions about the expectations of the curriculum. Our next meeting will be held on TBD. The meeting will last approximately one hour and will be held at the Suzuki School of Newton (1615 Beacon Street). The meeting is primarily for parents, but children may come if they are able to quietly entertain themselves. Please RSVP by emailing email@suzukinewton.org or calling 617.964.4522.

STEP TWO:  Observation and Parent Lesson

Parents and students enrolling in the core program are required to observe a minimum of one group lesson, one musicianship class, and one individual lesson. Observations will be scheduled after the parent information session. In addition, one of the parents should take a private lesson on the instrument of choice. This should be the parent who plans to be most active in helping the child practice. Adult-sized instruments are available on loan from the office for these lessons. Parents and students enrolling in an Early Beginners class are not required to observe, but are instead asked to have an interview with a teacher.
